Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Pre-Med LogBooks ("the app," "we," or "our") is a productivity application designed to help pre-medical students document and organize their academic and clinical experiences. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information when you use the app.

The short version: Pre-Med LogBooks does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Pre-Med LogBooks does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

Your name, email address, or any account credentials
Location data or GPS coordinates
Camera or microphone input
Contacts or calendar data
Device identifiers used for advertising
Behavioral analytics or feature-usage data
Crash reports sent to external servers

We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or behavioral tracking tools of any kind. (We do use RevenueCat for subscription management — see Section 5.)

3. Data You Enter Into the App

All information you enter into Pre-Med LogBooks — including LogBook titles, activity details, hours, supervisor information, competency records, reflections, notes, and any other content — is stored exclusively in a local database on your device.

This data is:

Never transmitted to any server operated by us or any third party
Never sold, rented, or shared with any person or organization
Never used for advertising or profiling purposes

You retain full ownership and control of everything you enter. Deleting the app permanently removes all locally stored data from your device.

4. Device-Managed Backups

If you have enabled iCloud Backup or another device-level backup service, your operating system may include app data in those backups as part of its normal backup process. This behavior is controlled entirely by you and your device settings — not by Pre-Med LogBooks.

We recommend exporting your data regularly using the app's built-in export feature if you want a separate backup copy independent of your device's backup settings.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Pre-Med LogBooks offers a free trial followed by optional subscription plans. All subscription purchases, billing, renewal, and cancellation are processed by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Pre-Med LogBooks uses RevenueCat to verify and manage your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment card information, billing address, or account credentials.

Apple and Google may collect and process payment-related information according to their own privacy policies, which govern those transactions. We receive only the information necessary to confirm your subscription status so the app can unlock the appropriate features.

Pre-Med LogBooks uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform, to verify and manage subscription entitlement status. RevenueCat receives your subscription receipt from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to confirm whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat may assign an anonymous random identifier to your installation and may collect limited diagnostic data to operate this service. 7. Children's Privacy

Pre-Med LogBooks is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect any personal data from any users, there is no meaningful distinction in practice — but if you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address the concern.

8. Your Rights and Controls

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

Edit or delete any entry at any time within the app
Export your data at any time using the app's export feature
Remove all data permanently by uninstalling the app

There is no account to delete and no server-side data to request removal of.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
